Once again Chabad volunteers will deliver a festive Purim Basket of hamentashen and assorted snacks to your relatives and friends within a 5 mile radius of TOBC at a nominal cost , to assist you in performing the mitzvah of mutual gifts of food and drink, mishloach manot.

Purim is celebrated annually on the 14th day of Adar, Sunday March 20th, the day following the victory of the Jews over their enemies.

Purim

Purim commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people of the ancient Persian Empire from Haman's plot to annihilate them, as recorded in the Book of Esther.

Purim is characterized by public recitation of the Book of Esther, giving mutual gifts of food and drink (mishloach manot), giving charity to the poor (mattanot la-evyonim), and a celebratory meal (se'udat Purim), other customs include drinking wine, wearing of masks and costumes, and public celebration.
 
The Town of Oyster Bay Chabad will provide the following service:

  • $9 - Per Purim Basket on the TOBC list within 5 mile radius 
  • $12 - Per Purim Basket to be picked up, not on the list (Pick up date to be announced.)
  • $9 per name - You may request to automatically reciprocate to all those who send you a Basket, without any inconvenience to you.
The form must be received by Town of Oyster Bay Chabd no later than Tuesday, March 1st, in order to ensure timely delivering on Purim.

Don't delay! It's best to order early, as Purim is rapidly approaching.

Each Purim dish will contain an assortment of Purim foods, such as, hamantashen, chocolates and fruit, be decoratively wrapped on an elegant Basket, and enclose a greeting card identifying the names of those who sent it.
